After Ringing the Bell Cancer Survivorship Conference is hosted by the Sussex County Survivorship Coalition who works to coordinate efforts and provide support to cancer survivors and their families. The Coalition members include: Beebe Healthcare’s Tunnell Cancer Center; Nanticoke Cancer Care Center of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital; Cancer Support Community Delaware; Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition; and the American Cancer Society.
This conference is intended for cancer survivors and healthcare professionals.
Participants will identify personal mind, body, spirit connections and have the opportunity to develop a personal wellness vision to improve quality of life following cancer treatment.
Dr. Corinne Leach PhD – “Survivorship for the Whole Person”. In this opening session Dr. Leach offers insights into the powerful connection between mind, body spirit and cancer survivorship.
Steven Berlin, MD – “Live Longer, Better After Cancer”. Dr. Berlin will offer insights on some of the most current research regarding the Blue Zones, aging well, longevity and happiness.
Rita Karapurkar Williams MA, CHES, NBC-HWC – “Living with Intention”. Rita will guide participants on gaining a deeper understanding of wellness and the power of intentions and help participants develop a wellness vision, and action plans to live their best lives.
Kimberly Blanch, RN – “Just Breathe Until You Get There”. The breath is our prana or life force. Kim will teach us about the breath and guide through several types of breathing techniques.
Beverly Geffon, CYT – “Yoga Practice”. Beverly will take us through a 50 minute beginner yoga practice at the end of the day. Please wear clothes you can practice in.
